The Mullerthal Trail is supplemented by five ExtraRoutes, which are also very attractive hiking trails. They are suitable for getting to know the region or as additional routes when the other three routes have already been hiked.
The Mullerthal Trail is also supplemented by four shorter ExtraRoutes, which are also very attractive hiking trails. They are suitable both as beginner routes and as additional routes if the other routes have already been hiked.
The ExtraRoute D connects the Mullerthal region with the Grunewald near the capital, where a connection to further hiking networks is possible.
The route starts at the beautiful castle of the cobblestone-paved small town of Bourglinster. From there it goes via Altlinster and Schleifmillen past the rock formations of the prehistoric cult site Häerdcheslay. Through a beautiful mixed forest passing a forest pond, the route leads via Blumenthal (connection to the Mullerthal Trail Route 3) past the striking TV towers to Junglinster. There is the possibility, after 18.5 km, to take a shortcut directly back to Bourglinster. From Junglinster, the route runs along beautiful forest paths to the "Grand Ducal enclosure", a 500 ha large private preserve of the Grand Ducal family, which has been accessible to the public since 2009.
