Moersdorf

Moersdorf lies directly on the River Sûre at the Luxembourg-German border. The river landscape, the nearby Deiwelskopp nature reserve and numerous hiking and cycling trails characterise the surrounding area.

Moersdorf is located in the eastern part of the Mullerthal Region, directly on the River Sûre, which forms the border with Germany. A pedestrian bridge connects the village with Metzdorf on the opposite bank.

Route 1 of the Mullerthal Trail passes through Moersdorf and then climbs through the nearby Deiwelskopp nature reserve towards Mompach. The area is known for its species-rich calcareous grasslands and wild orchids. An orchid nature trail leads through the varied landscape with traditional orchards and dry-stone walls.

The Auto-Pédestre Moersdorf circular hiking trail starts at the church. It climbs from the Sûre valley onto the plateau, passes through Givenich and returns to Moersdorf through fields and woodland.

Moersdorf is also a good starting point for cyclists. The national cycle path PC3 follows the River Sûre towards Rosport. The bridge to Metzdorf also offers opportunities for cross-border cycling tours.
